Previously, from 2001 until 2006, the Pink Skyvan and it's staff spent the winter in the warm and sunny country of Tunisia. Many skydivers from around Europe and the rest of the World joined us there for some exciting desert jumps.
Due to some procedural changes for obtaining permits, we were unable to spend last winter there, so we decided it was time to move on and find another place.
In January 2007, our pilot
Phillip flew the Pink as a support plane for the Paris-Dakar-Rally in Senegal. He
really enjoyed his time on the westcoast of Africa and suggested this region for
the next boogie. Since French is the official language in Senegal and our French
language skills are lacking , we checked out neighboring countries and found
English-speaking Gambia, or as they are officially named: The Gambia
A couple of Google-Searches later, we had all the telephone numbers and email addresses. Next Thomas and Silvi flew down to The Gambia for meeting with the officials.
The Gambia is a small tourism-promoting country on the west coast of Africa in the middle of Senegal. The people are very friendly and tourists are welcomed with a big English speaking smile.
There are numerous local adventures for non-skydivers such as bird watching and river trips.
You will get the latest information on The Pink Gambia Boogie 2008 here!
We hope you will join us in The Gambia!
